Bernie and The Wizards

In this third episode of The Universe Builders, Bernie has been assigned a project. It is his job to discover why the guid-peppers are not arriving at the trading post on Photox. It falls to Bernie to find and fix the problem in order to restore trading and appease the owner of the planet.
Bernie visits the planet and befriends two of its citizens. Together the three of them, with Lenny and Suzie, investigate to determine the best course of action to resolve the dilemma. Will Bernie be able to find a resolution? Read the book to find out.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The Universe Builders series with Bernie just keeps getting better and better. And even though the series is written with the young adult in mind it makes for excellent reading for the older generations as well. I sincerely hope that Mr. Steve LeBel continues writing about Bernie.

A Celtic Story

I’ve been trying to write this story for some years, (you don’t want to know how long this has gone on.) But recently I kind of found my voice again and have been working as best I can with writing more. I’d like to ask you to read these words and leave me your honest opinion so that I can see if I am going in the right direction, or should I give up and forget about it?  Only time can tell, but read on and hopefully you will enjoy. via Daily Prompt: Resist

I’m not sure when it started but whenever I saw brownies I just could not resist them. I knew that one day this inability to resist would get me into some awful trouble.

Today I spotted those brownies on my trip through the donut shop and I just had to get one. Okay, I got two, so sue me. I wanted to eat one right away and save the other one for when I got home. The only problem was, I couldn’t eat either one because they disappeared. Gone! Without a trace! Vanished, right out of my hot little hands.

I whirled around to see if this mysterious disappearance was done by someone in the neighborhood, but no. No such luck. And strangely enough, no one near me saw anything. I walked slowly back to my car and drove away. How. In. The. World. Did. They. Disappear? I was so bummed out that I didn’t know what to do. I certainly did not want to go back to the store and buy two more. Imagine all the looks I’d get if I did that. “Oh yeah, look who’s back for more brownies? Little Miss Brownie Face. She does NOT need more brownies and how come she ate the other two so quickly? She’s never done that before.”

So there you have it. The mysterious disappearance of the forbidden brownies that I could not resist. More to follow?

I Hate Moving!

“I came across an anonymous quote and then decided to journal on it. This is what I came up with.
If it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done. — Anonymous

It’s funny how you think of the little things at the last minute. Having just moved a whole house full of ‘junk’ this particular quote brings that to mind. Continue reading “I Hate Moving!”

We Touch Each Other’s Lives

I’ve touched someone’s life with my writing. Someone has read it and been affected. They may have laughed, or cried. Maybe my words have angered them! They have agreed or disagreed with what I’ve said, but no matter what, the fact still remains, ‘I have touched someone’s life.’ Continue reading “We Touch Each Other’s Lives”

You Know How it is

You know how it is, when you’re supposed to be doing one thing, something you absolutely do not want to do, but would much rather be doing something else; something you absolutely love to do? All these ideas come into your head and then when you go to write them down, they scramble and jumble up in your head and you can’t tell up from down. Continue reading “You Know How it is”

A Quick Chat

I’ve been following a blog for several months now and I absolutely love this woman’s posts. She writes like she’s having a conversation with you. It’s so calm and inviting like she’s talking specifically to you. I just can’t stop liking this particular blog and I wish that I could write the way she does. Continue reading “A Quick Chat”
